Steps from Introduction to Final Product
1. Introduction
A collaboration always starts with a good introduction. It’s important to know who you are working with because collaboration is more than just delivering a service or product. During an (online) introduction, we explore how we can support each other.
2. concept
Do you already have a clear vision for the product shots, or do you need advice and input during a brainstorming session? I’m open to all suggestions. We can start with an informal exchange of ideas and develop them into a concrete script, including style, materials, colors, ingredients, etc. Or, if you already have a concept in mind, I can get started right away. Anything is possible!
3. Shipping products
Great, I’m excited to get started! I work from my small but well-equipped studio. Please send your product samples to me so I can film them in an optimized environment. Make sure the samples have minimal scratches, stains, or other imperfections. Inspect them carefully under bright light and inform your client about this as well. Pack the samples securely with soft materials to prevent damage during transport.
4. Filming and Montage
Ready, set, go! Your custom set is built based on the concept. For verification, I’ll take a screenshot of the set before starting to ensure we’re aligned on the style. Once everything checks out, I’ll begin working and provide occasional previews so we can make adjustments if needed. This same process applies to the editing requirements as well.
5. Delivery of product shots
In addition to the final product files, you can also receive the raw footage and project files. A project can quickly reach several hundred GB, but no worries—I’ll make sure to send everything over. I primarily work with Premiere Pro and After Effects. If you use a different program, such as DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut, we can work with XML files or simply exported video files. There’s always more than one way to get the job done!
